Top Tips for business professionals heading to the Tech Show London

The Tech Show London returns to the ExCeL this March. You may have visited the ExCeL Docklands many times but here are our insights to increase your return on investment and enjoy a smooth visit.

Here are our insider tips for visiting the ExCeL for the Tech Show and many other fantastic events this Spring.

1. You can get off at Prince Regent Station OR Custom House Station for the ExCeL

The Elizabeth Line and DLR are the quickest routes to the Excel from CentralLondon. You can exit at Custom House for the west entrance to ExCeL or PrinceRegent for the east entrance. If one station is closed, it’s only a very short walk from one station to the other along the river on a well-lit path.

2. Keep the networking going and grab every opportunity

We know that you’ll meet lots of great people at the Tech show - a mix of fellow entrepreneurs, potential customers and possible investors. When you make a good contact, seize the moment and continue the conversation over coffee, drinks ora bite to eat. We highly recommend seeking relaxed surroundings away from the show floor to help to cement a relationship. The Fox is literally seconds from the ExCeL entrance - on leaving the venue just head down the steps on your right and look for the red door

3. Maximise your investment at the Tech Show - hire a space and make it your show headquarters

How can you really maximise your time and investment? By taking over a local venue, such as the Fox, you can offer your potential customers pre- or post-show drinks, breakfast, dinner or even a full on product showcase. Brand the space, bring in entertainment, and create a welcoming headquarters for the duration. We have five different spaces to choose from each offering different vibes, including a basement bar with a private entrance.

4. Skip the coffee queues

We’ve seen long queues for coffee inside the ExCeL. The worst part is when you order and pay quickly and then have to wait ages for your beverage. An alternative is to leave the centre and head to Starbucks. You’ll have passed it as you walkover the over bridge from the station. A few seconds covered walk will save you time in the long run.

5. Need to send an email or complete some research?

It’s likely that the show floor and public areas are busy and noisy. Head to the Fox where you’ll find free WIFI, tables and an opportunity to make that call, send that email or quickly research a new contact or opportunity. You can order drinks and light bites to make the experience a true working break before heading back to the show. Access our tables either via Starbucks on the over bridge or by heading down the stairs opposite the exit on your right and enter the red door.

6. Say thanks to the team with post-show drinks

Being on a stand all day is tiring - not only are you standing, you’re likely to be involved in constant conversations. Taking your team for post show drinks is a great way to acknowledge their commitment and energy. There’s outdoor seating at the Fox for those summer evenings and a huge warehouse bar and restaurant for those chillier spring evenings

7. Travelling from the O2 or internationally?

Did you know that you can fly into the Docklands either on the IFS Cloud cable car from the O2 or via London City Airport? Both are only a stones throw from theExCeL and the home of the Fox Excel.

Whenever you’re at the ExCeL, visit the Fox

The Fox restaurant and bar is a converted warehouse - it used to store all the goods shipped into London from around the globe. Today, it’s a family-owned, independently run bar and restaurant and arguably one of the most popular spots in this corner of the Docklands. Our red door is well known as the entry point to one of the best places for drinks and food away from the exhibition floor.
